Business Opportunities in Japan
Date: 27th April 2006
Venue: Corrib Great Southern hotel
Japan is a strong, developed economy now enjoying healthy growth. The economy, driven by its huge domestic market, is characterised by its homogenity, both in requirements and taste, and the distribution of wealth across its population of 126 million.
The land of the rising sun in 2006 is a market of increasing openness and confidence in foreign goods and services created by a desire to internationalise. This is supported by strong government commitments and policies to deregulate and reform. Imports of goods into Japan have increased by 46.3% since 2001, increasing by 12.7% in 2005 alone. Opportunities are multisectoral but are most evident in the ICT, Medical/Healthcare, Education Services, International,Services, Food and Drink and Consumer sectors.
The aim of this seminar is to introduce Japan and the tangible opportunities it provides for Irish businesses. The seminar is designed for companies exploring the possibility of buying, selling, outsourcing, setting up or investing in the Indian market. Executives from Irish companies with successful operations in Japan will describe their experience of doing business in the land of the rising sun. There will also be presentations from business support agencies on sectoral opportunities and supports available for Irish businesses trading with Japan.
The seminar, which is being organised by the Irish Exporters Association, Enterprise Ireland, the ChambersIreland and the Embassy of Japan in Ireland, will be held on the 27th April in the Corrib GreatSouthern Hotel, Galway.
